Work description
The Police & Crime Commissioner for Essex ('the Essex PCC') is seeking proposals from firms wishing to be considered for appointment as statutory auditors for a [three year period commencing with the audit of the financial statements for the year ending 31 March 2019. The Contract will be for a period of three years with the option to extend for 24 months on 12 month extensions subject to satisfactory performance. The audit will be conducted with regard to the duties of 'local auditors' set out in the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 (the Act) and the National Audit Office's Code of Audit Practice. In particular, the auditor will need to be satisfied that the accounts comply with legislative requirements; that proper practices have been observed in preparing the accounts; and that the statement presents a true and fair view
Essex Fire Authority will be permitted to purchase services from the contract at a later date should they be required. There is however no commitment to purchase these services at this time.
