## Description

Local Authorities throughout the UK are required by statute to produce accounts in accordance with the proper accounting practice specified in the "Code of Practice on Local Authority Accounting in the United Kingdom" \(The Code\) prepared by the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accounting \(CIPFA\)\. The Code is updated annually\.The Council is required to undertake the programme of asset valuations in accordance with the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors \(RICS\) Code, guidance and standard account practice, to establishing the value of the estate, annually\. Please refer to Schedule 1- Specification for more information\. Valuations are to be prepared in accordance with all current industry guidance and best practice as issued by CIPFA, RICS, DLUHC\.
