Description
This requirement is for the Minsterley Surface Water Diversion - The Minsterley Brook catchment comprises an extensive area of former mines in South Shropshire. Sampling by Environment Agency (EA) shows mine water discharges to contain elevated levels of metal pollutants. The Mining Remediation Authority is proposing to install a surface water diversion pipeline as part of works to reduce metal pollution in the catchment. In addition the works will involve the following: • Installation of a new below ground HDPE pipe approximately 53m in length; • Modification (grouting) of existing culvert; • Installation of penstock gates in surface drain to control waters; • New manhole chamber and inlet headwalls; • Construction of outlet headwall; • Testing and commissioning (including CCTV and hydraulic flow tests); • Temporary working compound and drainage isolation and diversion measures; • Site restoration • Disposal of arising (potentially some contaminated material); This contract has been let following a further competition from the Pagabo Small Works DPS
