Work description
Norbury Manor Primary School requires acoustic treatment to 3 no. Reception classrooms. Currently acoustic conditions are extremely poor with the 3 no. Reception classrooms being interlinked and largely open plan with hard wooden floors and high ceilings. This causes noticeable reverberation. Improving the acoustics will reduce unwanted reverberation and noise and improve listening conditions for deaf and hearing pupils.
Croydon Council wish to appoint a contractor to design and install acoustic solutions to 3 no. Reception classrooms to reduce and control reverberated (echo) noise. Any installation must meet the performance standard for reverberation time for Primary school classroom refurbishment as set out in Table 6 of the Building Bulletin 93 (BB93) 'Acoustic design for schools: Performance standards'.
Works to be carried out under a JCT Minor Works Building Contract with contractor's design 2016 with London Borough of Croydon amendments.
