The works include the phased conservation of four distinct areas of Furness Abbey to improve structural stability and condition of the ruins\. The four areas are: the Presbytery, the West Tower, the East range and the Infirmary\. The works generally include the following: de-vegetation; grouting \(presbytery only\); pinning of stonework; galleting; hot lime pointing; replacement of moulded stone; replacement of asphalt roof covering \(book cupboard on east range and infirmary roof only\)\. The works will include a strong conservation in action element\.
