Description
Network Homes (NH) wishes to carryout water ingress remedial works, renewals and refurbishment works at Leicester Court. This is one of four blocks on this estate (Eaton Plaza) where there are water ingress problems, water penetration and dampness. BRE investigations to Leicester Court have been carried out including invasive investigations carried out in May and August 2015. BRE reported and then presented findings and their recommendations for remedial works to all blocks which are starting with pilot works to Leicester Court. Once these are complete and reviewed with lessons leaned, works will be required to the other 3 blocks. Build circa 12-14 years ago. In total there are 4 no. flats on the ground floor and 19 in total within the block. There is a communal front entrance and rear gardens accessed from the ground. The property is of structural concrete framed construction with cavity brickwork walls front and rear. The roof consists of a tiled hipped roof. Windows are UPVC to all elevations. The site is located on the Harrow Road, with Elmfield Way providing a boundary to the site in the north and east. South is a canal. The site is all primarily social housing developments comprising of blocks of flats. The surrounding area is predominantly residential in character. Eaton Plaza comprises some 6 no blocks, 4 of which are owned by Network Homes. The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.
