Description

Restorative practice is a broad term covering a range of interventions designed to support people dealing with conflict and with different circumstances. This may include victims or perpetrators of crime or anti-social behaviour, people struggling with conflict in their family or facing challenges in their life. Restorative approaches are used in a variety of settings - as part of statutory requirements in court orders, as pre-court interventions and diversionary activities, to deal with challenging behaviour (e.g. bullying) in schools, address internal family conflict and support people in developing themselves. For the purposes of this specification it will comprise the core elements set out below. These services are- 1.1 Provision of Restorative Mentoring with a particular focus on 16/17/18 year olds (i.e. school leavers) successfully accessing Education, Training or Employment with training. 1.2 Provision of mediation and restorative family work supporting families to stay together, parents to parent more effectively and young people to ensure that their voice is heard. 1.3 Provision of restorative support to young people identified as suitable for a 'diversion' intervention.
