## Description

Barnet Council has legal duties as part of the Mental Capacity Act Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards \(DoLS\)\. These safeguards exist to protect people in care homes and hospitals\. Where a deprivation is identified the provider must apply to the Local Authority for authorisation\. The Council developed an approved list of suppliers in April 2016, the Council re-opened this approved list for new applicants to apply for the remaining duration of the approved list \(2020\)\.
