## Description

The Standards and Testing Agency \(STA\) is responsible for developing National Curriculum tests on behalf of the Department for Education \(DfE\)\. This contract is in relation to a voluntary pilot study into extending the Phonics Screening Check to Year 3 pupils in 300 schools\. The main aim of the pilot is to inform future decision-making regarding possible national roll-out of the Phonics Screening Check to Year 3 pupils who do not meet the expected standard by the end of Year 2\.
