Description
The purpose of this document is to invite tenders for a single contract to carry out the transport of the Horniman Museum touring exhibition 'Hair: Untold Stories', including set works and collections, from the Horniman Museum and Gardens to Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery, Carlisle, and then to Weston Park Museum, Sheffield, and then back to the Horniman Museum and Gardens as well as optional additional element. The Horniman is currently showing the temporary exhibition 'Hair: Untold Stories' until 19 June 2022. It will tour to Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery, Carlisle to be exhibited from 23 September 2022 - 08 January 2023. It will then tour to Weston Park Museum, Sheffield for exhibition between 10 February 2023 - 29 October 2023 following which it will return to the Horniman Museum and Gardens. Crates 25 crates, approx. 22.93m3 Set works not crated (soft wrapped) Essential Requirements: • The transport of museum collections must meet the minimum conditions to conform to Annex E of the Government Indemnity Scheme guidelines. Note the set works can travel using appropriate non-GIS compliant transport. • Proven experience with references in the UK for this type of work. Formal tender submissions must be received by noon 12th May. Tender submissions should be made electronically to Laura Davidson (ldavidson@horniman.ac.uk). We do not expect hardcopy submissions. Additional information: This tender has been reopened and the deadline for submissions extended to noon on 12 May.
