## Description

Direct Services Highways & Engineering Team tendered competitively to win the Northway Marston Flood Alleviation Scheme\. The Flood Alleviation Scheme is an Oxford City Council project that has been designed to prevent surface water flooding in Northway\. The Northway Marston Flood Alleviation Scheme will include roadworks, construction of a new spillway and holding ponds, plus a new football pitch\. There is a large amount of Earthworks required with over 20,000 tonne of soil to be dug and moved within the site, which is larger than we could undertake in house\. Highways & Engineering require an Earthworks contractor to work alongside them in completing this project\. The scheme involves large volumes of excavation and earth moving which are larger than could be undertaken in house\. Scope\. This tender is specifically in relation to Earthworks for the Northway Marston Flood Alleviation Scheme only\. This is a one off excavation and earth moving contract that must be completed by 31st March 2017 End date for the earthworks: Phase 1 \(Site A\) 17th March 2017 Phase 2 \(Sites B & C\) by 31st March 2017 Soil potentially contaminated with asbestos will be priced separately as this area is currently an unknown until work has begun on site\. Additional information: This is a Works contract with a value below the Works threshold of £4,104,394, and therefore is not subject to Public Contract Regulations 2015\. However, we must continue to apply the principles of non-discrimination, equal treatment, transparency, mutual recognition and proportionality\. This opportunity will be advertised on Contracts Finder in addition to the SE Business Portal, supporting improving suppliers' access to "below threshold" public contracts
