Campus HV Infrastructure Upgrade

The age of the existing cable infrastructure on the Peel Park Campus has been flagged by the University's estates department as a high risk item, with cabling in parts being circa 50-60 years old. To mitigate any potential disruption to teaching, and to provide resilience in the existing in the HV infrastructure, the University have decided to undertake a cable upgrades. This involves the installation of a new HV ring for future development and a substation.

The project will briefly consist of:

• The erection of a standalone substation to house HV and LV switch gear • The installation of a new GRP enclosure • The installation of new cable ducts • Supply and install new HV cabling • Associated excavation works • Testing and commissioning
