Work description
This framework will cover the Council's requirements for taxi and minibus services, it will encompass Home to Care Transport, Home to School and College Transport, Transport for Adults, Looked After Children, People with Additional Needs, other Vulnerable People, Officers of the Council and any other transport requirement as authorised by the Authorised Officer. The contract will be split into three Lots as follows: Lot 1 - Fixed term routes - this Lot will cover all routes where the Council has more than 2 working days' notice before the route commencement date. There will be no maximum number of contractors allocated a place on the framework for this Lot and each route will be issued to all Contractors as a mini-competition with the lowest cost Contractor being awarded that work. This Lot will also include all requirements for coaches and minibuses. Lot 2 - Short Term Requests - this Lot will cover routes where the Council has more than 5 hours and up to two working days' notice before the route commencement date. There will be no maximum number of Contractors allocated a place on the framework for this Lot. Short Term requests will be issued to all Contractors as a mini-competition with the lowest cost Contractor being awarded that work. Lot 3 - Emergency Requests - this Lot will cover requests where the Council have less than 5 hours' notice before route commencement. There will be a maximum of 5 Contractors awarded a place on this Lot. All contractors who express an interest in being included on this Lot will be evaluated on prices submitted at tender stage and the top 5 will be included on this Lot. Emergency requests will be issued to the 5 Contractors via mini-competition.
