GMCA 713 Apprenticeship Levy

Description

Following the end of the devolved AGE grant, GM has approximately £1.98m underspend (from a total grant of £12.2m) to be spent by end of March 2019 on the original grant purposes enabling the Combined Authority to vary the level of financial support available to different types of learner, sizes of business and subject areas in apprenticeships. This was agreed by DfE in March 2018, approved by GMCA for further development in June 2018 and formed part of the strategic direction for Apprenticeships in GM set out in the July 2018 WLT paper. Aim GM will develop a package of support measures for non-Levy paying employers across the city region that creates additional high quality apprenticeship opportunities within their businesses
