Description
The Atkinson is an important Heritage Asset of great significance. Any intervention/change should be implemented in full recognition of the buildings Grade II listing .Whilst the existing building is protected by virtue of its Grade II listing, there are some opportunities to implement improvements to the performance of the external envelope which do not compromise the significance of the heritage asset. The works involve the refurbishment and upgrade of 18 Victorian windows in the Bank Building at the Atkinson complex in Southport The rooms in which the proposed upgrade is to take place, are in a section of the Atkinson complex known as the Bank Building and are focussed on 6 windows at ground floor with a further 12 windows at first floor (referenced as the second floor).
