As a Central Government Department, the Ministry of Defence (MOD) has a series of data processing and information obligations to fulfil in respect of Parliamentary business, Freedom of Information (FOI) requests and Data Protection legislation. The Department relies upon use of a case management system to support compliance with statutory obligations under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR, together with ministerial accountability requirements and wider transparency commitments.
