Description

Refurbishment of the window frames, coupled with replacement of glazing with slimline double-glazed units is required. The project management team must provide a detailed specification of requirements for repair and replacement glazing in three buildings (107no. windows). This specification must be a sufficient standard to allow this works package to go to tender, and the project management team then manage the successful contractor to carry out the works in two of the three buildings by 31st March 2024. There is also a data suite that is expanding it's capacity and currently utilising 3 CRAC units that need to be replaced. The requirement is for these to be replaced with units capable of offering 'free-cooling' when outside environmental conditions are favourable, thus offering financial savings and carbon footprint reduction by reduction in electricity use. The project management team must therefore design a system to provide adequate capacity cooling for the data suite and also produce a specification capable of being used in a tender process. This design must also include for structural engineering aspects and architectural design of any external plant enclosure.
