0680 Country Park Bridge Expansion Joint Replacement Scheme 2023

Country Park Bridge is a single span steel structure which carries Atherleigh Way (A579) over Westleigh Brook in Leigh. It is situated adjacent Pennington Golf Course and a public footway runs adjacent to the structure. The works briefly comprise: • Saw cut and break out carriageway, footway/verge to reveal existing waterproofing and buried joint. • Works to be carried out in phases to minimise traffic disruption. • Remove existing joint and Prepare surface to receive a new Thormajoint BJ 200ST Type 2 Asphalt Plug Joint. • Install new Thormajoint BJ 200ST Type 2 Asphalt Plug Joint, to include a skid resistant dressing stone 1.4-2mm. • Reinstate carriageway, footway/verge and any affected road markings. • Remove existing polysulphide sealant to bridge edge beams and replace with new polysulphide sealant.
