## Description

The General Medical Council \(GMC\) and the Nursing and Midwifery Council \(NMC\) are collaborating to establish a joint Witness Support Service \(WSS\), to provide emotional support by telephone for complainants and witnesses at any point during the life of a fitness to practise investigation\. The WSS will be accessible to witnesses and complainants on a full-time basis during office hours\.
