Quotation for Manual Handling of Objects Training Sandwell Metropolitan Borough \"The Council\" requires the following course to be delivered to employees: Manual Handling of Objects Training This training session requires the following objectives to be met: • To provide delegates with the knowledge and skills to enable them to carry out Manual Handling tasks safely and without risk of Injuring themselves or others. The agenda should consist of the following: • Health & Safety Law applicable to Manual Handling - Health & Safety at Work 1974 - section 2 • Manual Handling definition and injuries • Risk factors of back pain and ways to reduce the risk of injury • How to assess a manual handling situation e.g. TILE (Task, Individual, Load, Environment) and Hierarchy of Control • Lifting & carrying techniques and using lifting equipment • Risk Assessments e.g. a general repair job (renew an internal door & frame), working environment, individual capability etc. The session should also include national and benchmark statistics on Manual Handling injuries and sick days lost due to injury. We also request that Sandwell Council statistics are included in the course - these will be provided by us prior to the course start. The estimated budget available for the delivery of this training is £20,000 and the contract period will be for 2 years, commencing 1st December 2018 to 30th November 2020. However, this information is intended to assist with the preparation of your bid. The Council does not bind itself to this or any other figure and is not a guarantee of business which may be generated from this contract.
