Description
To assess, evidence and where necessary develop a compliant fastening system for message signs and signals that meets Eurocode requirements and National Highways standards, including provision of technical evidence and documentation to support approval by Safety and Engineering Standards (SES). Scope of Work The scope of work shall include, but not be limited to: Identification and justification of the proposed fastener type and materials Definition of the installation and pre-loading process, including torque or tension control methods Identification of applicable standards and a compliance assessment against them Provision of existing validated test evidence, or proposal and execution of a proportionate test programme to demonstrate compliance where required by Eurocode Certification of solution across defined usage scenarios including bolt and application variants (MS1, AMI, MSS and etc) Preparation of a technical evidence pack suitable for submission to national SES structures Assessment of whole-life cost, durability and maintenance implications Identification of risks and proposed mitigations Consideration of roll-out requirements, including tooling, training and quality assurance Determination of risk posed to National Highways through historical deployment of non-compliant fasteners
