Description
The trails audit will need to build on this insight and will consist of: • an assessment of the current condition, desirability (sense of place) and usability of the network • an assessment of the current gaps in the network • an assessment of current use of the network and some consideration for where growth in demand is likely to be highest The results from this fieldwork will then be incorporated into a detailed action plan which will outline what is required to ensure the network is fit for purpose: to support the local visitor economy; contribute to health and wellbeing; and provide a sustainable transport offer. The consultant engaged to deliver this work will advise on appropriate methodologies and technologies to assess the network (e.g. the use of GoPro's, drones, mapping software and the development of databases etc.). And how best to present and maintain the data to allow for future updates and comparisons by the partners.
