## Description

The current contract in place for the purchase of Abbott consumables by PHE has expired\. The laboratory operates a number of essential clinical tests on the which requires specific consumables\. The PHE contract with Abbott is currently being renegotiated but the laboratory needs to continue to purchase consumables from Abbott over this period to enable it to perform its front line service\.
