GB-Lowestoft: for a portable benchtop ATR-FTIR with laptop and polymer database

Cefas is a multidisciplinary scientific research and consultancy centre, employing over 500 staff, delivering solutions to meet the diverse needs of public and private sector businesses and organisations active in marine, coastal, estuarine and freshwater environments. Cefas is planning to purchase two portable, bench top scale ATR- FT-IR with laptop and a polymer database to be used in two overseas laboratories located in Indonesia. The two scientific hubs will be setup to analyse and train locals in the monitoring of microplastics in different compartments (biota, sediment and surface waters). We will use the fluorescent rapid screening approach (Maes et al., 2017) but require an affordable and portable FT-IR to confirm results (QA/QC) and determine the polymer type.
