## Description

This contract is for the appointment of a single contractor for the delivery project for Land of Lead and Silver\.\\r \\r This Project includes the consolidation and repair works at eight priority structures being: Allen Smelt Mill and Silver Refinery \(Northumberland\); Allenheads Mine and Ore Works \(Northumberland\); Holmes Linn Lead Mine \(Northumberland\); Augill Lead Mine Smelting Mill \(Cumbria\); Nenthead Mine \(Cumbria\); Coldberry Lead Mine \(County Durham\) and Middlehopeshield Mine \(County Durham\)\. \\r \\r The requirements also include as set out within the tender the following as a minimum:\\r \\r • Access improvements at sites including Dow Gang Hush, Augill, Fletcheras Rake, Middle Level Greenlaws, and Coldberry, among others;\\r • Heritage Skills training/visits for volunteers and the general public;\\r • Be available for groups to talk about the work being undertaken;\\r • Outside of the tender requirements for Themes and Outcomes Measures \(TOM's\) there is funding for 1 apprenticeship\.\\r \\r Funding\\r This Project is to be funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, with match funding from Historic England\. The project at Middleshopeshield will be part funded by the UK Government through the Rural England Prosperity Fund\. This has received conditional approval of this funding and full approval is expected soon\. The funding will end on the 31st March 2025\. The North Pennines National Landscape \(NPNL\) are reviewing additional sources of funding to support the delivery of the scope and achievement of the strategic objectives for this project for this project focussed on North Pennines mining heritage\. Should the NPNL be unsuccessful in obtaining all / some funding the Project may be modified accordingly, \(unless an alternative funding source is identified\)\. \\r \\r The documents must be downloaded from www\.nepo\.org and insert DN 709103 reference within the supplier area \.\\r
