## Description

Hackney Council sought a single experienced provider to deliver an Environmental Education Service to primary and secondary schools and community groups throughout the Borough\. Experienced firms were invited to submit tenders through an Open process in EU tendering\. This Environmental Education Service aims to raise the profile of recycling, waste prevention and local environmental quality, through education in primary and secondary schools and community groups\. The project will deliver educational sessions in schools to inform children and young people in Hackney about these key environmental topics, through interactive workshops and assemblies, as well as longer term programmes\. Environmental education will also be delivered at community events, to a wider audience of residents of all ages\. The term of the contract is 21 months \(Dec 2017 - Aug 2019\) with the option to extend the contract annually, by up to a maximum of 3 further years \(until Aug 2022\), subject to satisfactory performance by the Provider and the Council's needs and funding\.
