Work description
Tenders are invited for suppliers who wish to provide an Occupational Health Services to South Gloucestershire Council from 1st September 2017. The contract is for a three year period, but there is an option for the Council to extend the Contract period for up to two further years. The Council employs between 2500 - 3000 people, with approximately 4000 more who work within schools. In the past a number of smaller organisations (such as parish councils and individual schools) have accessed occupational health services under this contract via the Council, and we would expect this type of arrangement to continue. The Contract does not guarantee any particular level of service demand, because that depends on the operational needs, but historic service levels are indicated in Schedule 2. Most of the work within the contract has related to pre-employment health evaluation and referrals of employees for a medically-informed opinion: there has also been some involvement in relation to health surveillance, vaccination and other areas. The Council does not have any premises suitable as consulting rooms, so the Contractor must ensure that it makes appropriate arrangements consistent with the Contract.
