Work description
Bidders are invited to tender for the complete refurbishment of the existing flat roof to the Dalby Visitors Centre, The work will include the following:
-Removing Stripping off the existing felt roof covering -Inspecting and undertaking localised repairs to the timber deck, upstands, flashings, facias and parapets. -Preparing roof joists and installing new tapered insulation laid to falls, vapour control layer and a proprietary built-up reinforced bitumen membrane system with a warranted service life of a minimum 20 years. -Installing new rainwater pipes, soil & vent pipes, GRP trims, and a new 1200 x 1200mm triple skinned access hatch and domed roof light. -Removing and refixing and commissioning the existing photovoltaic panels, solar water heating panels and pipes, satellite digital aerials and Man Safe restraint system
Forestry England requires an experienced and qualified contractor to propose a suitable solution for the replacement of the existing flat roof.
Works will include for all site preparation, welfare provision, and access to height equipment. Site safety within the fenced enclosure will be the Responsibility of the Contractor during the period of the works.
Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.
