Work description

The Community Equipment Service (CES) provides a vital service to residents, enabling them to maintain their independence at home. Through commercial partnerships with other local authorities and NHS bodies we facilitate over 100,000 deliveries a year of essential pieces of health and social care related equipment. To ensure CES provides best value, equipment is collected once a resident no longer needs it. The equipment is cleaned, decontaminated and refurbished to a standard whereby it can be reissued to a resident in the community. A large proportion of this equipment is made of tubular metal and solid plastic - making them suitable candidates to be cleaned using an industrial cleaning machine; for example: walking frames, commodes, toilet frames and transfer aids. CES currently issue 800 items (made up of 34 different lines of equipment) a month, and 9,000 items a year, that has been recycled by the service and identified as equipment that could be cleaned by use of a machine. This category of equipment is currently cleaned by hand, using cleaning chemicals and cloths. To view this opportunity, please make sure that your company is registered on the London Tenders Portal.
