## Description

Cumbria County Council are engaged in a programme to design, procure and construct a specialist educational facility in Barrow in Furness\. The 40 place 'Alternative Provision' Unit \(APU\) will accommodate pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs in a secure setting that both caters for their needs and offers opportunities to enhance their growth as individuals\. A Contract for the Design and Build of the building is currently in place with Roland Hill Ltd\. The services provided under this contract are for the Design & Construction of an access road that will link the development site with the A590 Ironworks Road\. Cumbria is currently undergoing a local government reorganisation and Government has announced that Cumbria County Council is to be replaced by two unitary authorities with effect form 01 April 2023\.
