Accessible Oldham

Oldham Metropolitan Borough Council ("the Council") intends to enter into a collaborative partnering arrangement with a single contractor to deliver the Accessible Oldham programme of works. The programme comprises multiple projects of varying size and complexity carried out over a 4 year construction programme, incorporating high quality urban infrastructure works, natural paving and landscaping works, designed to improve access to and around the area for more sustainable modes of transportation and for pedestrian improvements. The package will also provide refurbishment to key strategic routes accessing Oldham town centre.

The Accessible Oldham programme also includes improvements to key roads, cycle and pedestrian links, junction improvements, public realm enhancements, upgraded signing and extended parking provisions.

Proposed projects to be delivered include the following (subject to funding):-

• West Street / Cheapside / Snipe • Taxi Rank Relocation • High Street /Lord Street / Rock Street • Market Hall • Market Place
