## Description

National Highways is looking for the provision of technical support services to provide technical assurance and advice, including the review of Departures from Standards and applications for non-prescribed traffic sign Authorisations\. The overarching objective of this Work Package is to assist the Safer Roads Design \(SRD\) team in its delivery of key performance measures through a 'right first time' approach\. This will be achieved through the following: - Reviewing departures from standards relating to road geometry and traffic signs and providing a recommendation to the relevant SRD team specialist/Authorising Signatory within agreed timescales and to the required high quality; - Supporting the SRD team Designated Responsible Officers and other SRD team specialists by reviewing applications for non-prescribed traffic signs in accordance with the Department for Transport \(the department\) and National Highways procedures, within agreed timetables; - Providing specialist technical assurance advice to support Operations Directorate, Major Projects, Service Providers, and the UK construction industry and facilitating external support where required to provide national expert guidance, and - Acting as a trusted business partner to internal and external clients and our customers by providing timely, high-quality advice on road safety issues\.
