## Description

technical consultancy services to investigate the interaction between future Digital Roads needs and road layout design documents within the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges \(DMRB\)\. The objectives of this work order are to: - Identify areas within road layout documents that may need to change \(evolve\) to support increasing levels of vehicle connectivity and autonomy; - Identify potential areas within road layout documents where connected and autonomous vehicles \(CAVs\) could provide opportunities for efficiencies; and - Provide direction as to whether those changes or efficiencies \(bullets 1 and 2\) could be achieved on a document-by-document basis or whether a dedicated 'digital roads' design document might be more appropriate\.
