Commissioners at Surrey County Council within Adults Wellbeing and Health Partnerships are looking to understand further the current offering of community activities for Older People, to ensure all future commissions meet the required outcomes and needs of assessed individuals in the county of Surrey.
In 2018, the Council embarked on a large-scale engagement activity with residents, staff, members, partners and businesses to shape our vision for Surrey in 2030. Together we agreed that: 'By 2030 we want Surrey to be a uniquely special place where everyone has a great start to life, people live healthy and fulfilling lives, are enabled to achieve their full potential and contribute to their community, and no one is left behind.'
It is essential that the care and support provided by Surrey County Council's Adult Wellbeing and Health Partnerships Directorate enables us to deliver our Community Vision for 2030 and promotes the independence for our residents in all we do and offer. Towards this aim, we are planning to introduce a commissioning framework for services that support people with everyday living. We will work to enable people to access the right health and social care at the right time in the right place Surrey County Council is currently reviewing services to gain an understanding on how current provision must adapt to ensure it meets the needs of the residents of Surrey in the future. Information provided will inform the commissioning approach and the specifications for the different models of care that comprise support for everyday living.
