Description
Prisons have been recognised as areas of particular concern during the COVID pandemic. Serious illness and deaths from COVID in prisons are amongst the highest of any cohort of the population. Furthermore, the impact of COVID outbreaks on prison operations and mental wellbeing has been profound. A wastewater surveillance system is required to reduce the risk of infection to prisoners, prison staff, their families and communities. The scope of work refers to 60 of the approximately 120 prison locations in England.
