The Great South West (GSW) is looking to procure a suitably qualified party to deliver an evidence based review of the scale of High Value Manufacturing across the Great South West. Information of particular interest includes:\r i. Number of businesses and people employed within the industry\r ii. Amount of money it generates for the economy\r iii. Level of exports accounted for by manufacturing businesses\r iv. Scale of investment in R&D\r v. What the main manufacturing sectors are within the Great South West\r vi. Which sectors are forecast to see the greatest growth \r Stakeholder engagement should form part of your approach, including:\r • Manufacturing groups: Plymouth Manufacturers Group, Cornwall Manufacturers Group, Dorset Engineering and Manufacturing Cluster and North Devon Manufacturers Association, together with SWMAS, the High Value Manufacturing Catapult and the South West Manufacturers Network.\r • Sector clusters: SW Defence & Security Cluster, Maritime UK SW, WEAF and Nuclear SW.\r • Partner organisations: Local Economic Partnerships. \r The intention is to use this information to promote the Great South West's manufacturing strengths and target key interventions that will enable the forecast growth to be realised.
