## Description

Secure expert input from an individual \(or individuals\) to work collaboratively with JNCC to develop a framework for undertaking MPA condition assessments\. This will entail: a\. A review, summary and critique of existing approaches to undertaking MPA condition assessments in the UK based on material provided by JNCC to the successful individual \(or individuals\)\. b\. A review of the applicability of existing threshold-based approaches undertaken for larger-scale assessments and their application at the MPA scale \(notably applied to OSPAR and under the UK Marine Strategy\)\. c\. Drawing together the findings from a\. and b\. to develop a 'strawman' framework for improved approaches to undertaking MPA condition assessments in the UK \(in particular in offshore waters \(beyond 12 nautical miles\) context\)\. d\. A set of SMART recommendations for further work\. The main deliverable from this contract is expected to be a single technical report that meets the specifications outlined in a-d above\.
