Description
This Procurement has been awarded via the CCS Management Consultancy Framework 4 (RM6309) The contract type which has been used is the CCS PCS contract and it has been offered on a five year term with an optional two years. For transparency, the quoted Contract value figures are estimated for the full seven years and have been adjusted with an estimation of inflation. The Inland Saline Mine Water Programme (ISMWP) has developed a process called 'Block to Scheme' (BtS) to understand what treatment solution is needed for each block in the programme. There are several steps in BtS from data gathering to risk assessment and management strategy. This contract is for conceptualisation, discharge zone and risk assessment which are key steps that will enable the blocks to be prioritised in order of risk, where the risk is determined by the quality and volume of mine water impacting water courses or aquifers and the impact date. The conceptualisation of each block will enable understanding of the rate of rise of the mine water, where it may discharge and when. The discharge zone assessment reviews local watercourses and reports on their ability to receive discharges from the blocks. These 3 activities were aggregated together to ensure one consultant was responsible for the data analysis, streamlining delivery and achieving value for money
