Work description
Gateshead Council's Traffic and Accident Data Unit (TADU) provides automatic traffic count data to local authorities in Tyne and Wear. In addition The Tyne and Wear UTMC (UTMC) centre manages traffic and provides travel information in the area. TADU is based at Gateshead Council and UTMC is based at Newcastle City Council. The aim of this project is to replace annual manual cordon count surveys in Newcastle and Sunderland with cordons of continuous (365 days per year), classified automatic traffic counts (ATCs). The benefits will be two-fold: reduce monitoring costs and making the data available to UTMC where it can inform real time traffic management. Please go to the NEPO Portal (www.nepoportal.org) to register your interest and download the documents.
Additional information: Instructions to Suppliers: Please go to www.nepoportal.org and register your organisation if you have not already done so. Then register your interest in this opportunity, go to the "my opportunities section" and then download the documents.
