Reducing bed admissions to Tier 4 CAMHS in Essex

Description

Funding was allocated by NHS England for the purposes of reducing bed admissions to Tier 4 CAMHS services. This is a short-term contract hosted by West Essex CCG on behalf of the Essex commissioners with the objective for the service to work with 150 families. Therefore whilst the contract is anticipated to be in the region of 9 months it will end after the 150 families has been achieved. Barnardo's have an existing service in place within North East Essex and Suffolk which is delivering positive outcomes. This means that Barnardo's have an existing staffing complement that can provide the service and technology with supervision and data recording already in place for West Essex to utilise to mobilise the service at speed in order to support the crisis team within the current CAMHS service. Award is being made to Barnardo's on the basis that they are able to provide this unique service within the timescales that the funding is available for.
