## Description

The Chemistry Department has a suite of thermal analysis equipment which is run as a service for both departmental and external users\. Services include Differential Scanning Calorimetry \(DSC\), Thermal Gravimetric Analysis \(TGA\) and Thermal Gravimetric Analysis with Mass Spectroscopy \(TGA-MS\) In order to meet the increasingly diverse needs of Chemistry and related departments, we wish to purchase both a Simultaneous Thermal Analyser \(STA\) which combines DSC and TGA and can run to high temperatures, and a TGA/FTIR/GC-MS system to provide chemical 'fingerprinting' of volatiles and breakdown products\.
