Expression of Interest - DHSC:ASC Liberty Protection Safeguards Regional Leads

Description

The Authority is asking for Expression of interests in the potential requirement described below: To support the implementation of new liberty protection safeguards, the Department is looking to support an 18-month regional support programme for councils with the specific objective of preparing them for LPS implementation. This programme will be tied to the implementation date for LPS which has not yet been set. The Government has announced its intention to decide on this date after the public consultation has ended. This work may include: • The roll out of a training support package for the conversion of Best Interest Assessors (BIAs) to AMCPs; • A 12-month regional support programme for local authorities and councils, to prepare them for LPS implementation, covering adult and children's services, tied to the LPS implementation date ; • A six-month post-implementation regional support programme to address immediate issues and concerns and support sustainable implementation; and, • Strategic co-ordination across local government, the NHS and health and care providers to ensure smooth implementation and support for the Department in implementing and raising awareness of LPS
