Work description

The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) is looking to appoint a competent provider to deliver an Express Freight Service including a Control Tower and Registration Portal. The Express Freight Service provides global freight solutions enabling medical supplies to be shipped using both export and import premium services, utilising parcels, pallet and freight solutions including Pharma (GDP) and special services in the event of critical shortages. Intended contract term: 17 months with the option to extend for up to 12 months. Estimated contract value £2.9m (plus £1.9m as maximum value of a potential variation in months 18-29 of the contract), excluding VAT. Therefore, possible total value for the duration of the contract £4.8m For avoidance of doubt this is not a call for competition, the purpose is to advise the market of a potential DHSC procurement. This market engagement process does not form part of the formal procurement process. Should the formal procurement process commence, any supplier may join the competition and all supplier bids would be evaluated on the same basis. A virtual supplier engagement event will be held on 30th March 2023 at 11am via Microsoft Teams. Please register your interest to attend the event by sending an email to ccsinbox@dhsc.gov.uk by 12 noon on 24th March 2023 quoting 'Express Freight Service' in the email title. Access to the event will be provided on registration.
