Description

Newark & Sherwood District Council is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Quantity Surveyor to work with an existing Design Team and Exhibition Design consultant to prepare budgets, cost plans and cash-flow forecasts for the Gatehouse Transformation project at Newark Castle, Newark, Nottinghamshire which will be used to inform the Council's project proposals, input to setting out a long-term maintenance & management strategy and costs for both the Gatehouse and wider Castle structure and to assist in obtaining the necessary consents for the project. The documents will also be used in support of an application for significant Heritage Lottery funding towards the delivery stage of the Gatehouse project. The term of the Contract will be for an initial period of 8 months covering the Development Phase of the project and submission of the HLF Round 2 application. The Contract will be extended beyond this period for the delivery of Services subject to available funding, planning permissions, a satisfactory review of performance and by the agreement of both Parties. For clarity the tender is for full QS services through to completion, with a potential break at RIBA Stage 3/HLF R2. The QS will be required to demonstrate in-depth experience and understanding of the costing of conservation and repair of Grade 1 listed buildings together with the development of heritage sites, museums and/or visitor related attractions and appropriate experience of HLF projects.
