## Description

The National Physical Laboratory \[NPL\] requirement is for a gas chromatograph \(GC\) with a flame ionisation detector \(FID\) coupled with a mass spectrometer \(MS\) with a quadrupole detector for the quantitative analysis of volatile organic compounds \(VOCs\) in nitrogen\. The purpose is to move away from the current labour-intensive use of two separate systems through combining their characteristics in one sole instrument for the analysis of multicomponent VOCs gas standards\.
