Bacup High Street Heritage Action Zone Partnership Schemes Contractor

Rossendale Borough Council has been successful in its Programme Design second stage submission to Historic England's High Street Heritage Action Zone Fund (HS HAZ) for Bacup Town Centre and has secured £1.08 million grant funding to deliver a 4 year project in a designated area of the town centre. The objective of the HAZ is to re-engage the local community with their historic high street, reactivate and breathe new life into the historic fabric of the high street and also to develop an inclusive and accessible cultural programme to empower and engage the local community, increase capacity in existing voluntary groups and community organisations and to sustain a vibrant and resilient town centre which retains the charm and character of the vernacular architecture of Bacup.
