Landscape Works to enhance Carrick Way Woodland for informal recreation in accordance with New Forest District Councils Mitigation Strategy: Mitigation for Recreational Impacts SPD 21 and Infrastructure Delivery Plan. The project will enhance the woodland environment to help maintain its Site of Importance for Nature Conservation (SINC) status and provide a better open space for the public. The works include improving the accessibility of the site with resurfaced footpaths, two footbridges crossing the Danes Stream (a designated Main River), new signage, gabion walls and seating; and improvements to the woodland condition through positive management, opening glades, and implementing new planting for some areas. A Management Plan will be developed by NFDC, and the management and maintenance of the site post-construction will be carried out by New Milton Town Council (NMTC).
