## Description

Floating Pennywort is an aggressive aquatic alien weed which has infested Pevensey Levels SSSI, SAC and Ramsar site\. The weeds presents a significant flood risk and endangers the protected site\. Effective control of the weed involved mechanical removal and chemical control\. Control of the weed has been ongoing on Pevensey Levels for 4 years and is showing good results\. This additional funding would allow ALL floating Pennywort outside of main rivers and Water Management Board ditches to be treated\. \(Environment Agency fund a programme to manage control on main rivers and Water Management Board ditches\)\.
