Construction of Public Realm - 24 High Street, Wisbech, Cambs.

Fenland District Council [the Authority] is seeking expressions of interest for the construction of an innovative design by architects Dallas Pierce Quintero for the creation of public realm on the former site of a building that collapsed 30 years ago at 24 High Street, Wisbech, Cambridgeshire. "The Gap"

The regeneration of this site forms an integral part of the Wisbech High Street Townscape Heritage project which is part funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF).

The scheme design comprises the construction of a steel structure housing a flexible space at street level for Wisbech Town to host a range of events and activities. A spiral staircase will lead up to a viewing platform above the roof level of adjacent properties and will provide panoramic views of the historic town of Wisbech and the vast expanse of the fens beyond.
