Work description

NHS Arden & Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit (NHS Arden & GEM CSU) on behalf of NHS Hardwick Clinical Commissioning Group (HCCG) acting as Lead Commissioner on behalf of the Derbyshire Clinical Commissioning Groups (including Erewash, Southern Derbyshire and North Derbyshire CCG's) invited interest from suitably qualified providers to deliver Male Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit Beds for Derbyshire CCG registered patients. Previously Derbyshire CCG's has not commission PICU provision within Derbyshire, instead they commissioned an Enhanced Care Ward with DHcFT. Today, where a PICU bed is needed, this is currently purchased primarily through private sector providers. The key aims and objectives identified by the Commissioners Were to provide Male PICU services in or near Derbyshire, potentially in conjunction with other Regional CCG Commissioners.

Additional information: Following an open lot process, of which Lot 1 was not award, this contract has been offered to the provider who scored the highest combined (quality & price) during the previous formal open tendering process to ensure continuity of service across Derbyshire. A development programme has been put in place to support those areas highlighted as 'needs improvement'. The contract will be closely monitored.
